मीरकासिम के जमाने में कष्टहरणी घाट का नजारा कुछ ऐसा था. आज भी हमें उसकी झलक मिलती है. फर्क सिर्फ इतना है कि बबुआ घाट और कष्टहरणी घाट के बीच में आज मुंगेर जेल है. पहले यहां राजा के मुख्यलोगों का घर हुआ करता था. उन्ही में से एक घर गोइनका परिवार के पास है. 1840 की इस पेंटिंग में भी चबूतरा नजर आ रहा है जिस पर बैठकर हम बातें किया करते हैं. आजकल तो ये चबूतरा भी टूटने लगा है. अब क्या किया जा सकता है सरकार और नेताओं को तो इसकी जरा भी फिक्र नहीं है.
